*sigh* server continues to act up...

Home from camping with alt.fan.pratchett friends near Hay-on-Wye, to find my PC hadn't in fact turned off but had crashed when shutting down. Not really a big issue though that.

Made good use of the Aspire One with T-Mobile USB at the campsite, winning a pair of Wharfdale speakers for 50p. I think they're a bit better at least than the old Aiwa speakers I've been using. If not they'll do as a pair of computer room, along with either another amp or the current amp upstairs with a 'new' surround amp downstairs.

Anyway, point of this post was that I also came back to find the server crashed, *again*. This is very annoying. I'm again suspecting bad RAM, thinking the entire lot of 4x1Gb sticks are bad. So will be buying some new *non* Crucial branded memory I think, probably Corsair. The server is running memtest86+ atm, to see if the memory is bad in it. I guess it could be a power issue if the 450W PSU isn't powerful enough for it, but I don't really think so.

EDIT: Seems to be the case that the memory is being very fussy and tempermental, tested both sticks individually, and in different sockets and they're both passing memtest86+ tests. Definitely going to get some new memory so I have something at least to compare to.
EDIT2: The Wharfdale speakers turned out to be worse than my Aiwa speakers and were blown.
