Yes! Finally!

I managed last night to finally after much poking and prodding and research to get Drupal 5.0 beta2 to work on
my Debian 'sid' server at home.

So it now means I can test Drupal v5 out at home and see what changes are afoot and so on.

The problem turned out to be that php was getting incorrect information from php.ini files, so deleting all of them and purging all the config files for apache2/php4/php5/mysql seemed to do the trick.

After that it was really just a case of getting MySQL 4.1 working (Debian 'sid' only has MySQL 5.0 available') and everything now works fine it would seem.

I also took the opportunity to get Drupal 4.7.4 installed on that machine too so I can test modules and so on with it before testing them on this site, which is obviously the better way of doing things I think.

More updates continue to happen on the site, I'll eventually get around to updating properly all of the panels pages, which annoyingly cannot be edited like a normal node, but that is just a limitation of how the module is implemented. Still, the panels module is more useful and adaptable than the older dashboard module was.
