Right, I've been a bit unhappy with Gallery2 of late, a few things haven't been working right, and I just find it generally bloaty and clunky.

So, I've been looking for a replacement for it.

I think, with a combination of several Drupal modules I've found the answer. It is:

• CCK
• Imagecache
• Views (pluse Views Bonus Pack)
• Custom Pagers
• Imagefield
• ThickBox

With a bit of tweaking and playing around I think I can come up with a good looking layout too.

So this is step one really in the reorganisation.

Next I am going to play about with the CCK and Views modules for recreating the content currently on this site and seeing how it all looks.

Will take me a while to get to a finished state I reckon, so in the meantime you'll just have to put up with the version currently running, which is rather bodged and so on I think, but better is coming!

One thing I will have to investigate is whether I can successfully migrate from the home install of MySQL v5 to the geekgothgrrl.co.uk MySQL v4.1 and the various PHP4.4.4 vs PHP5.2.4 potential issues. Will see nearer the time I guess.
